Consultancy

I offer practical, thoughtful consultancy for charities and community organisations navigating change, strengthening their leadership or planning for a more sustainable future. My approach combines strategic-leadership expertise, published research and direct experience of founding and leading a community charity.

I understand that smaller organisations often have to address complex questions while continuing to deliver essential services with limited time and resources. I work with leaders and trustees to clarify the issue, make sense of competing priorities and identify realistic next steps that fit the organisation’s purpose, capacity and circumstances.

Ways to work with me

Consultancy can take the form of a focused advisory session, a facilitated workshop for leaders or trustees, support with a specific organisational challenge, or a longer piece of strategic work. The format will depend on what you need, who should be involved and the outcome you want to achieve.

How I work

Every engagement begins with an initial conversation about your organisation, the issue you want to address and what useful progress would look like. I will then propose a clear scope, format and timescale. My role is not to impose a generic model, but to bring structure, challenge and practical insight to your particular context.

You can expect an approach that is collaborative, candid and grounded in the realities of organisational life. Where appropriate, I will provide a concise written summary, recommendations or agreed actions so that the work leads to a useful next step.

Fees

Fees depend on the scope of the work, preparation required, number of participants, timescale and whether travel is involved. Following an initial conversation, I will provide a clear proposal and quotation before any work begins. Reduced-fee arrangements may be considered for small charities and community organisations where appropriate.

Start a conversation

If your organisation is facing a strategic question, a leadership transition or a period of change, please get in touch. It is helpful to include a short description of the organisation, the issue you would like to explore, your preferred timescale and who would be involved. We can then discuss whether I am the right person to support you and what form that support could take.r
